With a coastline of bright white cliffs, charming mountain villages, and ancient UNESCO-listed churches, Cyprus is a photographer’s paradise.
This week-long photography workshop takes you beyond the tourist trail to discover the island’s hidden gems. From the divided city of Nicosia to the hauntingly beautiful Troodos Mountains, you’ll capture breathtaking scenes while refining your photography skills. Spring is the perfect time to visit—cooler temperatures, fewer crowds, and an explosion of wildflowers make for a stunning backdrop.

What is Cyprus Villages?
Cyprus Villages is our host. It’s a family run business based in the village of Tochni, a small picturesque village about 30 mins from Larnaca. Sofronious and his team have 30 years experience of running hospitality. Food is served on site at the taverna. From experience it’s absolutely delicious and largely home cooked. Trips out are by comfy minibus.
How warm will it be in late March?
Some say the weather in late March is near perfect. Daytime temperatures range from 16-23°C so not too hot. It’ll be cooler in the evenings so you may require another layer. If we have a cold evening Sofronius will light the wood burning stove in the cosy taverna where we have supper.
How do we get around?
We are based in the small village of Tochni. All trips out are by comfy minibus. Other trips you want to do can be arranged with the staff at Cyprus Villages
What landmarks and cityscapes will we see?
As our trips are photography based we will explore the landmarks found within those environments. Nicosia is a city of contrasts. The streets tell many stories, both joyful and solemn. The Old Town markets, the ancient venetian walls, Paphos gate, bustling streets, locals playing backgammon and the peace signs. An array of sights just waiting to be photographed. Of course there will also be an opportunity to see the Green Line dividing the city. If there’s any place you want to see specifically or an activity you’d like to do Sofronius and the staff can advise and arrange accordingly in your free time.
Will there be free time?
Yes! The itinerary is structured, but there’s time to explore, revisit locations, or relax at a café.
What skills will I learn?
Composition, capturing movement, shooting in changing light, black and white photography, and approaching people for portraits or candid shots.
What camera should I bring?
Any digital camera works, but one with manual controls (aperture and shutter priority) offers more creative flexibility.
Is the trip physically demanding?
Expect a lot of walking, but at a relaxed pace with plenty of stops. Comfortable shoes are a must.
Do I need to book my own flights and accommodation?
Yes. We recommend booking the same flights and hotel as the group for convenience—contact Adrian or Graham for details.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes, all participants must have travel insurance and provide details before the trip.
