Berlin is one of Europe’s most stimulating, creative, and cultural centers. From its historic past to its modern urban energy, the city breathes street art, exuding life through every alley, bridge, and mural. Dubbed the graffiti Mecca of the urban art world, Berlin is home to some of the most iconic murals by international artists such as Banksy, Blu, and Victor Ash.

This weekend workshop is designed to push your street photography skills, helping you master composition, capture movement, and shoot in different light conditions. You’ll explore famous murals, hidden artistic hubs, and bustling markets while learning new techniques from experienced tutors in a relaxed, collaborative environment.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 :

Day 1: Arrival & Settle In

✈️ Flight from Bristol arrives at 21:00.

Day 2 :

Day 2: Alternative Berlin & Street Photography Techniques

🚶 Alternative Berlin Tour – 4 hours (starts at 12:00).

🎨 What You’ll Learn:

Street photography fundamentals – mastering composition, movement & lighting.
Black & white shooting – capturing mood and contrast.
Observational skills – patience and timing for the perfect shot.

Day 3 :

Day 3: Street Art & Urban Exploration

📸 Berlin Wall & East Side Gallery Walk – 2 hours (starts at 12:00).
🎭 Self-Guided Kreuzberg Street Art Tour – 2 hours (starts at 15:00).

🎨 What You’ll Learn:

Approaching people – candid shots vs. interactive portraits.
Composition in busy urban spaces – framing, perspective & layering.
Creative techniques – depth of field, slow shutter speeds & motion blur.

Day 4 :

Day 4: Hidden Gems & Final Workshop

🌇 Morning: Raw Galande – alternative art spaces and graffiti-covered buildings.
🏙 Afternoon: Hackesche Höfe & Monsterkabinett.
🍽 Late Afternoon: Group dinner.
✈️ Flight to Bristol departs at 21:35.

Low-light photography – using ambient and artificial light.
Twilight shooting – adjusting settings for night photography.
Final feedback session – reviewing images and sharing insights.

What camera should I bring?

Any digital camera works, but one with manual controls (aperture and shutter priority) offers more creative flexibility.

How do I book flights and accommodation?

You’ll need to arrange these yourself, but we recommend staying in the same hotel as the tutors.

Is Berlin only about street art?

No! Berlin also has diverse architecture, historic landmarks, bustling cafés, and plenty of open spaces, making it a well-rounded destination for photography.

Will there be free time?

Yes! The itinerary is structured, but there’s time to explore, revisit locations, or relax at a café.

Is the trip physically demanding?

Expect a lot of walking, but at a relaxed pace with plenty of stops. Comfortable shoes are a must.

Do I need to book my own flights and accommodation?

Yes. We recommend booking the same flights and hotel as the group for convenience—contact Adrian or Graham for details.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes, all participants must have travel insurance and provide details before the trip.
